Unfortunate Distance

On a cold evening, a lonely black kitten sat outside, abandoned by its owner, who believed it brought misfortune. A kind-hearted boy found it and tried to find it a new home.
He asked people if they would take the kitten, but each had a reason to refuse. Some were afraid of bad luck, while others simply couldn't care for a pet. Eventually, tired and unsure, the boy and his friend left the kitten in a garden before walking away.
A lady soon found the kitten and took it home, offering warmth and affection. But happiness was short-lived—her apartment didn’t allow pets, and she was forced to let it go.
Later, a man took the kitten in, but his superstitious family refused to keep it. Once again, the poor kitten was left to search for a place to belong.
One day, while walking alone, the kitten stumbled upon a mother cat and her kittens in an old house. The mother cat welcomed it as her own, and the kind old lady who lived there accepted it too.
From that day on, the black kitten finally found a home, filled with love and warmth. Despite all the hardships, it proved that bad luck was nothing more than superstition. Happiness had simply been waiting in the right place all along.
